Some places have history, and some places have heart —  Lion and LamB has both.

Long before the pub you see today stood on this spot, there was another. The original Lion and Lamb was built in the 1800s and served the village proudly until it was tragically lost to a fire. In 1905, the building was lovingly rebuilt, and it’s this structure that has stood for well over a century, becoming a cornerstone of Pennington life.

Over the years, the name changed to The Musketeer, but the soul of the pub never left; it remained a place where locals and visitors came together to share stories, raise a glass, and enjoy each other’s company. Now, we’ve gone back to our roots, restoring the name that started it all. Lion and LamB is more than just a name—it’s a nod to the past, a fresh start, and a celebration of everything that makes a great British pub. (And yes, the capital ‘B’ is intentional… it made you look, didn’t it?)

Nestled in the heart of Pennington, on the edge of the New Forest and just minutes from the South Coast, our pub is the perfect spot to unwind. Whether you’re stopping by for a pint of real ale, a hearty meal, or making a weekend of it in our on-site accommodation, we’ve got you covered.

We take pride in serving food made with locally sourced ingredients wherever possible, paired with a carefully selected range of ales, wines, and spirits.

With on-site parking, a warm and welcoming atmosphere, and a rich story etched into every beam and brick, Lion and LamB invites you to be part of the next chapter.

Come in, take a seat, and make yourself at home.
