We're delighted to announce we've received Cask Marque Accreditation!

We’re over the moon to share that Lion and Lamb is now officially accredited by Cask Marque — a recognised mark of quality for pubs serving cask ale at its very best.

For those who aren’t familiar with it, Cask Marque is an independent accreditation that focuses purely on the quality of the pint in your hand. It’s not about branding or marketing, it’s about how well the beer is kept, handled and served. Every pub is assessed on things like temperature, taste, clarity and overall condition with regular unannounced visits to ensure standards are consistently maintained.

Achieving this is something we’re genuinely proud of and are so proud to have the plaque hanging above the door!

From day one we’ve wanted to build a pub that people can rely on — not just for good food and a welcoming atmosphere, but for properly kept ales. That means looking after the cellar, keeping a close eye on quality and making sure every pint that leaves the bar is served exactly as it should be.

It’s also a reflection of the breweries we work with and we’re lucky to partner with a great mix of traditional and modern breweries so it’s important to us that we do justice to the ale they produce.

If you enjoy real ale it gives you that extra bit of reassurance that what you’re drinking has been properly cared for. And if you’re new to it, it’s a good place to start!

We’ll continue to rotate our guest ales alongside our regular favourites so there’s always something new to try — but always with the same focus on quality.
